THE BRIEF

The goal was to build a social feature designed to make Spotify more interactive and community-focused. The idea stemmed from a fictional design brief to solve two key problems:

  1. Many users, especially students, struggle to share music directly through the Spotify app.

  2. Spotify lacks built-in tools for social engagement, leading users to rely on external platforms.

THE RESULT

My design solution addressed these challenges by introducing features that:

  1. Encourage social music sharing within the app.

  2. Foster collaboration through real-time group listening experiences.

  3. Directly connect users’ social activities to Spotify’s ecosystem to increase Student Premium subscriptions.
